Then of course there is the battery life which might mean you need to stop playing before you want to. If you never tried wired you might not notice it but if you do the comparison you are never in doubt that wired is much more responsive. There will be a slight delay between the movements you do with your hands and what you see in the headset. Ontop of that, you get higher latency (input lag) by going wireless. It is like a very noticeable drop in resolution. Now for those of you who have not done such a comparison, that difference is quite big. In my experience, using Alyx as a test, going from wired to wireless is akin to the loss in definition you get on a 100” projection screen when going from a 1080p Bluray to a 1080p Netflix stream. While it’s true that doing an all-in-one-headset would mean a massive loss in fidelity because by then it would be it’s own console limited to a mobile chipset’s capabilities, you would loose no fidelity by having the PS5 stream games wirelessly to the headset.īecause it’s streaming, that means the video signal would be compressed. There is a bit of a misconception about the benefits of the cable. Some of the cars will be worth getting just to admire the dashboards in the cars. Each one is a new experience to drive, just like they would be in the real world.Ĭan’t wait to try it out with the added immersion of the headset. It makes it all the more enticing to unlock and buy new cars. Also, with the force feedback and resistance the wheel provides the difference in “feel” between the different cars is so much bigger. I need to relearn how to drive in the game and it is so much fun. But after running several races (in slow cars mind you!) I can definetely see an improvement. I was starting to get quite good with the Dual Sense in GT7 but this feels like starting over again. Wheel, pedals, menu navigation via the wheel stick. Stick on wheel did not work in the PS5 menus. Turned on the PS5 (button on console, important). Plugged a cheap wired PS4 controller into the Drivehub. I have a PS3 compatible Fanatec Forza Motorsport CSR Elite with CSR Elite pedals. You asked about my experience with Drivehub in an earlier post.
